Oscar de la Renta continues to expand its vision for luxury resale with their latest drop on Encore, the brand’s official vintage and secondhand destination powered by Archive.
The new collection features 13 carefully sourced pieces, gathered from a network of vintage boutiques and private collectors.
As with all Encore pieces, every garment undergoes authentication and restoration by the in-house artisans at the Oscar de le Renta atelier.
The result is a resale experience that feels unmistakably Oscar.
Oscar de la Renta first launched Encore in 2021 as one of the earliest examples of a luxury brand creating its own official resale destination. In partnership with Archive, the program was designed to give the brand direct ownership over its secondhand market while maintaining a luxury customer experience.
Rather than functioning as a more traditional resale marketplace, Encore operates through curated drops of vintage Oscar de la Renta pieces. Each release features a limited number of garments that have been carefully sourced, authenticated, and restored in their atelier before being offered for resale.
This drop-based model allows the brand to maintain strict quality control while presenting collections that feel intentional and collectible. It also reflects a core principle of luxury resale: when brands participate directly in the secondary market, they can preserve the storytelling, craftsmanship, and value associated with their designs.
Since launch, Encore has featured a range of vintage pieces spanning decades of Oscar de la Renta collections, including runway styles, archival silhouettes, and rare eveningwear.
For a brand with such a rich design history, resale provides a powerful opportunity to reintroduce iconic pieces to new audiences.
Encore extends the life of these pieces by bringing them back into circulation through an official brand channel that ensures authenticity, proper care, and a presentation that honors the original design.
For collectors and longtime admirers of the brand, Encore offers access to rare and hard-to-find vintage pieces. For newer customers, the program provides a way to discover Oscar de la Renta’s heritage through garments that represent defining moments in the brand’s history.
Vintage fashion has become an increasingly important entry point for younger luxury consumers, who are drawn to pieces that feel unique, timeless, and sustainably sourced.
Programs like Encore demonstrate how luxury brands can thoughtfully participate in resale while maintaining control over brand presentation and product quality.
By managing sourcing, authentication, restoration, and merchandising, Oscar de la Renta ensures that its resale offering is held to the same standards as its primary collections. This level of involvement also allows the brand to protect its heritage and ensure that archival designs continue to be represented accurately in the secondary market.
As resale continues to grow across fashion, brand-owned programs are emerging as an important strategy for luxury houses looking to maintain relevance, strengthen customer relationships, and extend the life of their designs.
With each curated drop, Oscar de la Renta Encore continues to showcase how heritage brands can celebrate their archives while building a thoughtful, long-term approach to resale.
